Welcome to The Drunken Apple
Thailand’s first and only cider-exclusive pub — inspired by the heart of the English countryside.
Our Story Begins in the UK
The idea behind The Drunken Apple stems from the lifelong passion of Steve Perrott, whose roots trace back to the rolling orchards and traditional pubs of the United Kingdom. Having spent decades surrounded by the culture of real ale houses and craft cider makers, Steve watched the quiet revolution of cider unfold — transforming from a local farmhouse drink into a world-class, artisanal experience.
In Britain, cider isn’t just a drink — it’s a way of life. From the crisp Somerset blends to the aromatic Suffolk drys, every region has its own unique taste and tradition. Steve grew up among these influences, visiting cider farms, learning the stories of the makers, and enjoying the rich community spirit that accompanies a good pint of the real stuff.
The Rise of Cider Culture
Over the last two decades, cider has made a remarkable comeback across the world. Once considered a humble country drink, it’s now embraced by a new generation of drinkers who value craft, flavour, and authenticity. From the small-batch producers in Somerset to the innovative cider houses in New Zealand, the global love for apple fermentation is stronger than ever.
This growing trend has created a new appreciation for cider’s diversity — sparkling, still, dry, sweet, or keeved — each crafted with care and regional character. And yet, despite its international rise, Thailand had never experienced a dedicated cider-only venue… until now.
Bangkok’s First Cider-Only Bar
The Drunken Apple brings that heritage, passion, and craftsmanship to the bustling streets of Sukhumvit, Bangkok. It’s more than a bar — it’s a celebration of British tradition infused with a tropical Thai twist. From the décor of bamboo, rattan, and oak barrels to the warm lighting and orchard-inspired ambience, every detail has been designed to blend countryside charm with Bangkok’s modern nightlife.
Here, guests can enjoy a carefully curated list of eight world-class ciders on tap alongside our exclusive Thai creation, “One More” — a small-batch cider made locally using tropical fruit and traditional techniques. Served with hearty British pub fare such as Cornish pasties, pork pies, and Ploughman’s platters, it’s a true taste of home for expats and an exciting discovery for locals.
Why Bangkok?
Bangkok’s international mix of residents, travellers, and professionals makes it the perfect home for a cider-first concept. The city’s energy, warmth, and openness mirror the same qualities that define cider: refreshing, welcoming, and full of character.
Sukhumvit, with its endless dining and nightlife options, excellent transport links, and cosmopolitan feel, is the natural choice for The Drunken Apple. Whether you’re a homesick Brit, a curious local, or simply someone looking for a new experience, our doors are open, and the cider is cold.
